COVID-19 safety protocols for the 2021 Edward R. Murrow Awards Gala

We are excited to gather once again to celebrate excellence in broadcast and digital journalism at the Edward R. Murrow Awards Gala. RTDNA has been monitoring developments with COVID-19 and the Delta variant, and to make our Murrow Awards Gala as safe as possible, we will be implementing the following COVID-19 safety measures:

Proof of negative test

All attendees must provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test taken within 72 hours of the Gala. Results must be uploaded to the CLEAR app. RTDNA will accept negative PCR and antigen tests from these labs. Learn more about our COVID-19 verification process here

Proof of vaccination

Proof of vaccination will be required to attend the 2021 Edward R. Murrow Awards Gala. This is in compliance with New York City regulations, which require all people 12 and over must show proof of vaccination for indoor dining and indoor entertainment.

Limited capacity

While we would love to have a packed house at Gotham Hall for this year’s Murrow Gala, we will be limiting capacity to less than 400 ticketed guests to allow for additional space between attendees in the event hall. We strongly encourage people interested in attending to reserve their tickets as soon as possible.

Masks

RTDNA is requiring masks covering the noses and mouths of all attendees inside Gotham Hall when not actively eating, drinking or presenting. Scarves, bandanas and masks with valves are not permitted. This is consistent with CDC recommendations for vaccinated individuals due to the presence of the Delta variant. Any person with a disability who cannot safely wear a mask for reasons related to the disability is exempted from the mast requirement.

We thank everyone in advance for helping us safely stage the 2021 Edward R. Murrow Awards Gala. We will continue to monitor developments with COVID-19 and the Delta variant as well as recommendations and requirements from local, state and federal health officials. We will update these guidelines closer to the event if necessary.
